Congratulations to Eric Hagen, Gary Melnik, and Steve Sweet for winning their flights and starting the season strong. What began as a chilly, very early morning turned into a beautiful day of golf with great weather and even better company. Our first tournament of the year — and our first time using flighted groups — went off without a hitch, with 21 of the 36 participants taking home prize money! The unique tee box setups on several holes were also a big hit. We’ve set a great tone for the season ahead, and no doubt Wendell and Jeremy would have been pleased. Greg Schrenger and Mike Kaelin were the first to wrap up their singles match. Greg came out hot, while Mike started slow and found himself 5 down after seven holes. But in classic Kaelin fashion, he lulled Greg into a false sense of confidence and clawed his way back, cutting the lead to just one by the 15th. Greg woke up and responded with a birdie on 16 to make it dormie, then closed it out on 17. Kudos to both for a fine battle. Greg: 40/45 (85) Gold, Mike: 47–47 (95) White

The Tee Box Challenge allows players to select their starting tee for each hole while following specific guidelines. • Seniors (60+): May choose six tee shots from the red, yellow, and blue tees in any order. Their handicap will be based on 100% of their gold tee course handicap. • All Other Players (59 & Under): Must choose six tee shots from the yellow, white, and black tees in any order. Their 100% course handicap will be applied based on the white tees, regardless of their declared tee box at the start of the season.

Alternate Shot Tournament is a team format where two players take turns hitting the same ball until the hole is completed. One player tees off on even-numbered holes, while the other tees off on odd-numbered holes, alternating shots from there. The team records a single score per hole. The team’s handicap is 40% of the lower-handicap player’s index plus 60% of the higher-handicap player’s index. This adjusted handicap is then subtracted from the team’s gross score to determine the net score.

This two-man team event is open to all HH Men’s Club members, allowing players to partner with any other club member. The first nine holes will follow a best ball format, where the team’s score for each hole is the lower of the two players’ scores. The second nine holes will be scored by adding both players’ individual scores on each hole. Results posted here after Tourney End

Two-Day Golf Club Championship is a stroke play tournament held over two consecutive rounds. The competition is structured to determine the club’s champion, with players competing in different flights based on handicap.

The Modified Stableford golf tournament is a points-based scoring format where players earn points based on their score relative to par on each hole. Unlike traditional stroke play, the goal is to accumulate the most points rather than the fewest strokes.
